Jamshedpur, July 10, 2024: Tata Steel’s Sports Department organised a successful All India Inter Steel Plant Meet from July 9th to 10th 2024, at the Swimming Training Centre, JRD Tata Sports Complex. Chief Guest Vibhuti Dhand Adesara Head Sports Events and Training Centre graced the occasion along with Saurabh Shukla, Secretary, SPSB and Sacchidananda Singh, Observer, SPSB.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from a total of 30 participants from 4 units of Tata Steel. It was an achievement for Tata Steel as the All India Inter Steel Plant Swimming Championship was hosted for the first time by Tata Steel in the Events category.
In a display of exceptional skill and sportsmanship, the team from Rourkela Steel Plant emerged as the winners, showcasing their prowess and determination, whereas Tata Steel bagged the runner’s up position in this tournament.
To ensure fair play and adherence to the rules, the tournament benefited from the expertise of renowned technical officials including Yuvraj Patel, Hemraj Patel, Shyam Sharma, Sarwan kumar and K K Biswas who performed their roles admirably.
Tata Steel’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of camaraderie among its workforce was evident throughout the Championship. The event provided an excellent platform for employees to showcase their Swimming skills and foster a healthy competition.
