Jamshedpur, April 30: Rotary District Governor Dr. R. Bharat visited Rotary club of Jamshedpur Steel City on Friday where he examined the club records and inspected the ongoing projects.
Later, the club members visited the ASIA Health clinic being run at the ASIA office with the co-operative of TSRDS. This clinic is being run for the under privileged since 2002.
An induction heater, ceiling fan and some clinical instruments were donated for dispensary. Sewing Machines were donated to 6 under privileged ladies who have undergone training to assist there in earning their livelihood.
This was followed by a press conference where the DG highlighted a project of district 3250 in association with Rotary International. Dr. R Bharat will lead a medical team consisting of 16 doctors and 6 volunteers is going to Accra, the capital Ghana to guide and train the doctors there. Dr. Bedi a Rotarian is also part of the team.
Then we visited St. Peterís Church School where we donated a washing hands stations. The children there were informed about the importance of washing hands after using the washroom and before eating to avoid diseases.
The club members also visited Kapali Basti near Sonari where the club is running a child and adult literacy programme.
Rotarians Charter President Smita Parikh, PP Deepak Dokania, Secretary Amrik Singh, Simran, President Kamal Makati, S.N. Thakur, Killol Kamani and Deepali Dokania and Raksha Makati, IPP Sushma Chaturvedi, Praveen Gutgutia, Sandeep Bafna were present on the occasion.
