Jamshedpur, May 3: Rotary club of Jamshedpur West in association with JDC of Procurement division of Tata Steel organised a general medical checkup as well as cancer screening camp at adopted village Harisundarpur near Gamharia.
Tata Workers Union general secretary Dinda inaugurated the camp in the presence of Rotary West President Rajender Sachdev, Tata Steel officers Rotarians, spouses and Rotaractors. 107 members were treated with medicine, 47 people were screened for cancer detection, and counseling was made to do away with some common practices that cause cancer. Doctors and volunteers of MTMH worked very hard to make people realize how change in lifestyle habits can prevent disease.
Later, Dist Governor Bindu Singh inaugurated water station made by Corporate Partner Jusco for the benefit of villagers from where they can fetch drinking water all throughput the year.
The day started with breakfast meeting with villagers to assess the developmental work taken up by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur west and Jusco.
The event became successful with active participation of Rotarians, spouses, Jusco personnel, Tata Steel personnel, Rotaractors and villagers.
