Jamshedpur, Aug 29: Under the dynamic leadership of Project Director Anjani Nidhi and Chair (Itagarh Village Project) Rishi Chandrani , Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West is committed to protecting the environment. The club took a determined step towards achieving the ambitious target of planting 1.2 million saplings. The project kicked off on Sunday at Itagarh village.
The club partnered with M/s Chlorocem Pvt Ltd, Jamshedpur who committed to sponsor the project in the peripheral area of 10 kms from 6th phase, Adityapur Industrial Area, Jamshedpur.
After survey and rounds of discussions with village Mukhiya the club decided to plant saplings in phases.
In Phase 1, the club will plant 500 saplings starting from Jaherthan in the village.
As a symbolic event, 50 Ashok tree saplings were planted in the presence of Chief Guest Vijay Mehta and Guest of Honour Sumit Agarwal (Director of Chlorocem pvt Ltd). Rest of the tree saplings of fruit bearing plants, Mango, Kathakali, Jamun etc were handed over to the villagers for plantation at a later date.
