Jamshedpur, Aug. 2: World Breast Feeding Week is being observed by Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West in association with Urban Services Tata Steel. The week kicked off at Sonari community centre.
The club aims to spread the awareness amongst ladies on the benefits of breast feeding babies, how it affects mother’s health, economical aspects as well as correct posture of feeding the baby.
Varsha Gandhi was the resource person and spoke about the simple but vital precautions to be taken while breast feeding babies specially with the new born ones.
President of the club, Alakananda introduced members and spoke about why talk on breast feeding is important as many times young mothers are not guided properly on the benefits of the milk.
Members also talked about proper diet of mother, importance of consulting doctor on family planning methods, routine checkups and importance of immunization for babies. The club plans to spread awareness for seven days at different centers in association with Urban Services Tata Steel.
The program was attended among others by Shweta Chand, Nibha Mishra, Rotary Spouse Neelam Wadera , Varsha Gandhi, and Snehlata Harlalka.
