Jamshedpur, Nov. 12: Rotarians of Rotary club of Jamshedpur West along with Rotaractors of Karim City College celebrated Children’s Day with Urban area Project schools and Govt school children living in slum areas.
At the Deeksha centre-the day was celebrated with Deeksha morning school children and Birsa Basti morning school students.
Their parents are daily wage earners and children were given free basic education and healthy breakfast were around 50 children were present.
Rotary West runs morning school in both Deeksha Sonari and Birsa Basti area. Rotarians and a dozen of Rotaractors of Karim city college talked to them about Children’s Day–Sang and danced with them too. Nutritious khichdi was served to children along with chocolates and balloons.
The day was also celebrated at Bhatia Basti Govt Middle school were rotarians and rotaractors had a great time. They promised children to start evening tuition classes in English, maths and extra-curricular subjects .
Chocolates and balloons were distributed amongst 150 children.
