Rotary Jamshedpur West awareness rally marks World Polio day

Jamshedpur, October 25: Around 150 members of Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West comprising of Rotarians, spouses, Moderators, Interactors and Rotaractors took out a rally on Tuesday to make the people aware about the ill effects of polio. Members holding Placards informed the citizens on how we can eradicate Polio from the entire World.

Subodh Kumar, ADM (Law and Order) Jamshedpur, flagged off the rally and complimented the club for taking the initiatives.

Each member wore identical caps with message of �End Polio�now and tried their best to touch lives of common men and make sure that they take children to Polio booths.

Slogan and Placards were made in Interactors through a competition organised by Rotary West which helped them to know about the disease.

It was the Grand Finale of the four-day event comprised awareness talks in four slum areas and one at Sahelicentre, with help of RCC members. Poster, placard and slogan competitions organised amongst Interactors is also part of the initiatives of World Polio Day.

Through entire programme, more than 500 people were benefitted specially when lot of young mothers don’t actually know what Polio is all about as they haven’t seen anyone in their lives. As pictures say a thousand words, members of the club showed them pictures to make them understand importance of proper vaccination and how we can gift a Polio free world.
