Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West marks Independence Day with patriotic fervour

Jamshedpur, August 15: The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West celebrated Independence Day with a blend of patriotism and cultural vibrancy. The national flag was hoisted at the club’s Community Service Centre – Diksha, where children of the Rotary Play School participated in various competitions. Winners were felicitated with prizes, and sweets were distributed to all. Chief Guest PDG Pratima Banerjee, Club President Ashok Jha, and Secretary Naman Agarwal addressed the gathering, while Rotarians Neelima Prakash, Sanjeev Sehgal, and Anupama Sehgal played a key role in organizing the event.

To add grandeur to the celebrations, the club also took part in “Azaadi Ke Rang: Suron Ke Sang,” hosted by the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City at a city hotel auditorium. The programme paid tribute to India’s legendary playback singers, with each participating Rotary Club presenting performances dedicated to one iconic artist. Out of eight competing clubs, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West won the Best Club Award for its musical play “Tere Geeton Mein Hai Shaamil, Hindustan Hamara,” dedicated to singer Mukesh. Rotarian Rajendra Sachdeva received the Best Singer Award, while retired army officers with gallantry awards were specially honoured, making the event memorable.
