Jamshedpur, July 14: As part of its commitment to Environment vertical, and Water resource management, Rotary Club of Jamshedpur West has dug a pond in Dhanchatani, an agriculture-based village about 20 kms from Jamshedpur.
Rotary West is associated with the villagers of Dhanchatani for the last four years and has launched several projects including tree plantation, education, skill development training etc.
On the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima the pond was dedicated to the villagers of Dhanchatani on Wednesday.
District Governor Sanjeev Thakur did the honours. Also present IPDG Pratim Banerjee, planted lotus flowers saplings on the banks of pond. Club President Nibha Mishra said that the pond will be used for bathing, irrigation and fishery project.
She thanked project coordinator Dr Amit Mukherjee and Director for Environment Anjani Nidhi for their wholehearted support in making this mega project successful.
Nibha Mishra extended sincere gratitude towards PDG Ajmani of Rotary Club of Turtle Creek Valley, Rotary District 7350 for providing funds for the project.
Club members Anjani Nidhi, Sanjeev Sehgal, Anupama Sehgal, Madhulika Sabarwal, Shweta Chand along with villagers were present.
