Rotaract Club of Steel City Distributes Educational Kits to 151 Girls on Navami

Jamshedpur, Oct 3: The Rotaract Club of Steel City celebrated Navratri’s Navami with a noble gesture by distributing educational kits to 151 underprivileged girls across different localities in Jamshedpur. The initiative, titled Sashakti 4.0, is part of the club’s annual effort to promote girl child education and empowerment, now running successfully for the fourth consecutive year.

The distribution programme was organized at Andhra Madhya Vidyalaya, Tinplate, where girls from Baridih Basti, Lalbhatta Bhuiyadih, and Mochi Basti Birsanagar received the kits. The project, held on the occasion of Durga Navami, highlighted the importance of literacy in empowering young girls and shaping their future.

A key feature of the event was a menstruation awareness session led by Rishu Ranjan and  Prathama Bose, a certified Menstrupedia educator. The session aimed to break taboos surrounding menstruation and educate girls about menstrual health and hygiene. It stressed the importance of awareness and open conversations about this natural biological process, which is often neglected due to social stigma. The session was supported in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City.

The programme saw enthusiastic participation from Rotaract Club of Steel City members, including Club President Rahul Verma, Secretary Aman Kumar, Vice President Rtr. Roshan Soni, Joint Secretary Ajay Dutta, Club Advisor Amit Kumar, and Co-chairperson Sneha Kumari. The initiative also gained strength with the involvement of Rotaract Clubs of DBMS Education, KMPM, Kalimati, and Sevarth, who worked together to ensure the success of the event.
