Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Three unidentified armed men looted cash and jewelry worth several lakh from a railway quarter near Lal Building Chowk under Bagbera police station area in the wee hours of Thursday.
Sources said the robbers entered the house of Anju Pandey, a train ticket examiner (TTE) posted at Tatanagar railway station, by breaking the window rods. Soon after securing their entry, the robbers took the woman at gunpoint and lay their hands on cash worth Rs 51,000 and jewelry kept in the safe. The robbers gagged the woman�s father and tied his limbs. They took Anju Pandey and her mother hostage by keeping sharp weapons on their necks, police said.
Police lodged an FIR in this connection on a complaint filed by Pandey. No headway could be made in the case till late evening.
