Jamshedpur, Jan 06: Robbers decamped with Rs Five lakh worth of medical implements from the Apollo Groups telemedicine centre at the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Asanbani under Jadugoda police station. Centre in-charge Dr Mrityunjay Ghaodia and Zila Parishad member Karunamay Mandal informed the Jadugoda police who then arrived to inspect the place of occurrence.

Health Centre staff Dhani Ram stated that when he reached the PHC, he found the lock of the main gate broken. The thieves had broken the locking knob of the telemedicine centre and taken out the CCTV receiver and taken them away so as to leave cops in a quandary about the identity. The machines and instruments taken away by the robbers included computers, scanner machine, CPU, printer, temperature gauge machine Asha Plus, tabs, inverter, 16 batteries, biosensor and hemoglobin testing machine.

Potka Community Health centre in-charge Dr Mrityunjay Ghaodia attributed the cause of the theft to the lackadaisical attitude of authorities concerned in matters of deputation of security guards.

The Civil Surgeon, on the basis of a written application of villagers for posting of guards, had personally sent a written requisition for the same almost a year ago but the correspondence had yet to yield any result.
