Road Safety Week: DC flags off publicity van on day one

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar Monday flagged off a publicity vehicle to mark the beginning of 30th Road Safety Week celebrations in the district. He was accompanied by the District Transport Officer (DTO) and other district officials.

The DC said the awareness campaign launched today will continue till 10th February. Throughout the week, various events would be organized to sensitize citizens on road safety and make them aware of their duties. As a part of the campaign, nukkad natak (street corner plays) were organized at prominent city places today. An appeal was made to the people to be conscious of their duties and follow traffic rules by wearing helmets and seat belts and driving within speed limits.

On 9th February, Run For Safety would be organized in the city. Chief Minister Raghubar Das is expected to flag off the event.
