Jamshedpur, Jan 14: Under the aegis of Swarnrekha Kshetra Development Trust and Yugantar Bharati, Swarnrekha Mahotsav was celebrated on Friday by worshiping the river at Sonari, Domuhani River bank along with Kalyannagar Ghat at Bhuinyadih and Bagunhatu in Baridih. Due to COVID conditions, a limited number of members of the Swarnrekha Kshetra Development Trust went to the banks of the Swarnrekha river, where Pandit Vinod Pandey conducted the prayers. This was the 17th anniversary of Swarnrekha Mahotsav.

After prayers, trustee of the trust, Ashutosh Rai in his address said that under the guidance of MLA Saryu Roy, the program of Swarnrekha Mahotsav was being celebrated for the last 17 years under the joint aegis of Swarnrekha Kshetra Development Trust and Yugantar Bharati. He said that continuous efforts have been made by the Trust to clean the Swarnrekha river.

Ashutosh Rai stated, “In spite of the several projects undertaken to keep Swarnrekha River clean, some people still need to be made aware of the importance of such endeavors. These rivers are our lifelines especially for those living in the surrounding river areas.”
