Jamshedpur : Rich tributes were paid today to reputed footwear company Sreeleathers’s founder Suresh
Chandra Dey’s wife Kiranmoyee Dey, on his 92 nd birth anniversary.
Tributes were paid during a function at Kamani Centre. Kiranmoyee Dey played an instrumental role in setting up of the shoe trade empire.
On the occasion general manager of Sreeleathers Tushar was present. Dey stood by her husband during his struggle days and motivated him to fulfill his dreams.
Suresh Chandra Dey, a visionary leader was born on April 21, 1911. Dey brewed up a unique way of serving his motherland.
He felt the need for generation of capital growth and employment within his country as the best way to
serve the nation. A patriot and a great revolutionarySuresh Chandra Dey, was a trusted disciple of Surya
Sen, a protagonist of the Chhattogram armoury plunder.
Set up in 1953 by Suresh Chandra Dey, a noted freedom fighter of his time, the Group entered the export market in 1993-94.
The first Sreeleathers shop set up at Jamshedpur in 1953 still stands today.
