Jamshedpur, Feb 17: Schools in the city affiliated with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) are undergoing training sessions on question paper setting. The training focuses on adapting to changes in the curriculum and teaching styles introduced under the new education policy. A training camp at Gulmohur High School, Telco provided insights into the new approach to setting questions for half-yearly examinations.

Teachers Ajay and Savita, conducting the training, emphasized the need for clarity in the question paper. The new method aims to make questions concise and easily understandable, focusing on fostering critical thinking skills. The training covered the technique of formulating multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with an emphasis on higher-order thinking skills like analysis and evaluation. The revamped approach includes questions on reasoning, equation-based questions, and practicality-based questions that encourage the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios.

The objective is to develop question papers that not only assess students’ understanding of the material but also cultivate critical thinking skills crucial for academic and professional success. This training aligns with the educational reforms brought about by the new policy, ensuring a more holistic and skill-oriented assessment approach.
