Returning Officer inspects polling materials cell in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, May 8: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner cum Returning Officer Amit Kumar conducted a surprise inspection of polling materials cell on Wednesday.

He said the cell had the responsibility of supplying polling materials to all polling duty staff of Jamshedpur Lok Sabha constituency. He inspected the packing of essential materials being given to each polling party. He issued instructions to NEP director Seema Udaipuri in this regard.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the distribution of election duty certificates (EDCs) among polling parties, the DC said the same were essential to enable polling duty personnel to cast their votes at their respective polling booths. So far, 2124 ECs have been distributed, while 1998 EDCs still remain to be distributed, he said.

A total of 4944 applications were received by the district administration for issuance of EDCs.
