Dhanbad: In a significant development, the Dhanbad-Chandrapura passenger train has resumed operations after a hiatus of six and a half years. The train, which was scheduled to reach Dhanbad station at 9:40 am, surprised commuters by arriving 35 minutes earlier at 9:05 am. The operational restart of the train was marked by a flagging-off ceremony at Dhanbad station.
Dhanbad MP PN Singh and MLA Raj Sinha were present to ceremoniously flag off the train at 5:05 pm. The event saw the participation of several railway officers and leaders, including ADRM Vineet Kumar.
Earlier in the day, Giridih MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary and Baghmara MLA Dhulu Mahato had flagged off the train from platform number one at Chandrapura station. The resumption of this train service, which had been inactive for over six years, is expected to benefit commuters and contribute to improved connectivity in the region. The train commenced its journey from Chandrapura station at 7:20 am, slightly behind schedule.
