Jamshedpur, August 13: With Independence day round the corner, a team of youths in the city have launched awareness campaign regarding the importance if our national flag and informed the people not to throw the tricolour after the celebration on August 15.
Team Republicans Challenge, a wing of Change India Foundation, visited several schools, shops, colleges, hostels and political parties offices informing them about the importance of National flag and not to dishonour it.
The team members also visited Police Stations and took pledge not to dishonour tricolor and will make maximum people aware not to use the National flag for decoration purpose. The team members have made plans to register FIR against people found dishonouring the National flag.
Team will register FIR against people under ‘Flag code of India 2002 prevention of insult to National honour act’.
The team members are appealing all the organisers not to use tricolor for decoration and have also made a list of places where independence day is celebrated and plastic along with paper flags are used for decoration.
After the celebration flags lie down and people walk over them.
