The agitation was organized on Thursday in front of DC office during which a section of the unruly mob vandalized roadside hotels and several shops.

Peeved over the development the residents of Seraikela gave a bandh call on Friday. The agitators put up a road blockade on Seraikela-Kandra and Seraikela-Chaibasa road halting movement of traffic for about four hours.

The agitators also burned the effigies of Seraikela MLA Champai Soren, Ichagarh MLA Sadhu Charan Mahato and Kharsawan MLA Krishna Gagari.

The leaders had taken part in Thursdays agitation in support of the villagers who were protesting against declaration of Dalma Eco Sensitive Zone.

When SDO Seraikela Sanjiv Kumar Besra reached the spot the agitators demanded compensation to the traders who had faced losses.

The SDO gave positive assurances to the agitators to the effect and thereafter the blockade was lifted.
