Jamshedpur : Residents of Bagbera and Jugsalai today staged a massive demonstration in front of the district collectorate alleging police involvement with a builder who was encroaching government land on the sides of public drainage line.
The residents alleged that since the last three days a Jugsalai-based builder Rajesh Mangotia had tried to encroach on a large drainage locally which was used by more than 5000 households on one kilometer stretch from Jugsalai to Bagbera.
On April 21 night men of the builders when resisted by the locals took away one boy Vikash Singh along with them in a SUV which infuriated the locals,� said Budhram Toppo mukhiya of North Bagbera gram panchayat.
Locals of Bagbera and Jugsalai in order to free the boy Vikash Singh (17), son of Hemant Kumar Singh, went to the house of the builder in Jugsalai and released the boy after a strong protest. They threatened of a mass agitation if the administration does not initiate action against the police official.
The locals agitation received support from BJP in the form of party district yuva morcha president Ratan Mahto along with other party leaders joining in their agitation.
