Full Dress Rehearsal on January 24
Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum district administration has kicked off preparations for the 2026 Republic Day celebrations with the start of intensive parade rehearsals. Following the directives issued by Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, multiple security and youth contingents began their drills on Tuesday to ensure a high standard of ceremonial precision for the upcoming national festival.
The opening day of rehearsals saw a disciplined display by eight distinct platoons. The participating units include one platoon from JAP-6, two platoons from the District Police Force, and one from the District Home Guard. Representing the youth energy of the city, two platoons each from the NCC Boys, NCC Girls, and the Scouts and Guides also joined the coordinated exercises.
The district’s roadmap for the celebrations indicates that the initial training phase will continue at the Golmuri Police Line through January 21. The venue for the drills will transition to the iconic Gopal Maidan on January 22, which serves as the primary site for the main Republic Day event. This shift allows the participants to acclimatize to the official parade ground ahead of the grand ceremony.
A critical milestone in the preparations is the full dress rehearsal scheduled for January 24 at Gopal Maidan. This final dry run will be conducted under the close supervision of the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police. The joint inspection aims to review the overall synchronization of the parade, security protocols, and logistical arrangements to guarantee a smooth and dignified event on January 26.
District officials have emphasized that all administrative machineries are working in tandem to celebrate the occasion with patriotic fervour. Extensive measures are being taken to maintain strict discipline and decorum, reflecting the significance of India’s constitutional milestone.
