Remove all obstacles to ensure hassle-free polling on May 12: East Singhbhum DC

Jamshedpur, April 28: East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner cum Returning Officer Amit Kumar convened a meeting of district administration officials to review preparations for election scheduled to be held on 12th May.

Addressing officials, Kumar said the district administration had made elaborate preparations for the elections. He said the preparations were in full swing. He asked polling officials to remove all obstacles in the way of a free and fair poll. He said the district administration would try its best to comply with the instructions of Election Commission of India.

The DC said basic amenities would be available at polling booths.  Lodging and fooding facility would be available for poll duty staff, he said.

Also present on the occasion, SSP Anoop Birtharay said the district administration had made foolproof security arrangements at each and every polling booth of the constituency. Police department is keeping an eye on trouble-mongers and anti-social elements, he said.

The SSP further said that the district police had recommended cancellation of arms licences of those who have not got physical verification of their arms done yet.
