Release of Hemant, Arvind focus at INDIA bloc Maharally

Conspiracy to kill my husband in jail: Sunita

Ranchi, April 21: As top INDIA bloc leaders gathered in a show of strength at the ‘Ulgulan (uprising) Nyay rally’ in Ranchi’s Prabhat Tara ground today, the focus remained on the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and JMM leader Hemant Soren by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Speaking at the rally, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge attacked the PM Modi-led BJP government. “The INDIA bloc is not scared. We are not finished, even if you put our CMs in jail. We are only scared of the people of India.” Earlier, the AAP supremo’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said that “they are creating problems over Kejriwal’s food and insulin because they want to kill the chief minister of Delhi.”

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who was set to participate in the INDIA bloc rally in Ranchi, could not make it as he “took ill suddenly and is unable to leave New  Delhi for the present.” He was also unable to attend separate campaign rallies in Satna and Ranchi earlier in the day.

“The BJP was trying to topple governments in opposition-ruled states but democracy cannot be allowed to fail, said former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren in a message from jail that his wife Kalpana read out at a mega rally in Ranchi on Sunday.

She was speaking at the opposition bloc INDIA’s ‘Ulgulan Nyay’ rally, which was attended by leaders of 28 parties.

“Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and my husband Hemant Soren were jailed just before the elections by forces that were hatching conspiracies against their governments,” she alleged.

“The BJP wants to erase the history, existence and pride of Jharkhand. In these elections, you have to choose an MP who speaks about the state’s issues in the Parliament. However, when BJP’s MPs go to Delhi, they do not say a single word on saving Buran Rights Act,” said Jharkhand chief minister Champai Soren.

“I can vouch for this that they (BJP-led NDA) are afraid. They have lost the (Lok Sabha) elections, and that’s why they are doing ‘anyay’ (injustice). In the very first phase of polls they have been decimated,” said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav

“We will fight against dictatorship and win. The gates of jail will break and Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren will come out,” said Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“They want to kill my husband Arvind Kejriwal. His food is under camera observation; he is denied insulin. My husband is a sugar patient who has been on insulin for 12 years; He needs 50 units of insulin daily,” Sunita said at the Ulgulan Nyay Rally in Ranchi.

She claimed that her husband was jailed for working for the people “Jan Seva” and no charges could be proved against him.

“We will fight against dictatorship and win. The gates of jail will break and Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren will come out,” she said.

Incidentally, Arvind Kejriwal is under judicial custody at Tihar Jail.

“They’ve put Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren in jail. They’ve put them in jail without them being proven guilty. This is a dictatorship. What is the fault of my husband? Is it providing good education, health facilities?”

“Patriotism is in his blood. He is an IITan, he could’ve gone abroad, but he prioritises patriotism. As IRS, he took leaves to do public service. He has put his life at stake for people.”

Two empty chairs – one each for jailed Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal former and former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren – were kept on stage as the INDIA bloc organised a mega rally in Ranchi on Ranchi. The ‘Ulgulan Nyay Mahrally’ was organised mainly by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and a large number of its workers wore Soren masks.

“He (PM Modi) is afraid of INDIA alliance. They (BJP-led NDA) are raising the slogan of ‘400 paar’. However, PM Modi’s ‘400 paar’ film flopped on day 1 of the (Lok Sabha) polls,” claimed RJD leader and former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav.
