Relatives of late Kamal Devi Giri sit on dharna for CBI probe

Jamshedpur, Dec 29: The relatives and well-wishers of late Kamal Dev Giri, here on Thursday sat on dharna outside the district headquarters to demand a CBI probe into the murder of the slain Hindu leader of Chaibasa and narco test of the accused persons arrested in the case so far.

The protestors insisted on calling the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Superintendent of Police (SP) at the agitation venue and refused to buzz. After some time, the protestors sat on the road, causing traffic jam. A scuffle between protestors and police personnel ensued followed by self-immolation attempt by the sister of late Kamal Dev Giri. The protestors then shifted the agitation venue and gathered outside the residence of the DC.

Kamal Dev’s elder brother said the government had not taken any decision to fulfill his demand for a CBI probe into the murder case. He said the police should conduct narco test of the accused persons arrested in the case to find out if they were lying under pressure.
