Jamshedpur, Aug 13: The rehearsal for the Independence Day parade commenced at the Gopal Maidan on Wednesday. Five units of the security forces participated in today�s practice. The Deputy Commissioner, Suraj Kumar and SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan have directed that the march past rehearsals would continue till August 13. On August 13, the DC and SSP will jointly inspect a full dress rehearsal. The main Independence Day event at the district level is organized at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur.
In view of the COVID-19 infection, an appeal by the district administration to citizens has been sent out asking them not to attend the Independence Day event. The government directives to the effect have clearly mentioned that apart from invitees, district administration officials and employees none else would be allowed to participate in the Independence Day proceedings. A live telecast of the events on August 15 will be available on Face Book live.
