Register online for GST instead of taking help of consultants or companies�

Kolkata, 27 April: Better register online for GST yourself instead of taking agencies� or other companies� help, Ashutosh Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, North Division, Service Tax-I Commissionerate, told a group of MSMEs at a �GST Migration Camp� organised by CII here today.

�Should you face any problem while registering, feel free to approach us for easier and faster solutions,� he said, adding that businesses are advised to adhere to the extended the deadline of 30 April 2017 for GST Enrolment.
The government is there to handhold industry in the migration process, he said, adding that PAN is mandatory for the online registration on http://www.gst.gov.in.

Sharma also answered a number of queries with regard to the hurdles faced during the registration process regarding IGST, CGST and SGST and the flow of credit under the new tax regime.

There will be single registration for businesses having different units in the same state with the same PAN, Sharma said.

Sharma was accompanied by Ajit Singh Shekhawat, Assistant Commissioner, Service Tax-I Commissionerate; Dev Kumar Rajwani, Assistant Commissioner, Service Tax-I Commissionerate; Rubal Saroha, Assistant Commissioner, Service Tax-I Commissionerate; and Ankita Dhakre, Assistant Commissioner, Service Tax-I Commissionerate.

The �GST Migration Camp� was an initiative aimed at explaining to businesses the required online steps and the documentation process necessary for registration.
