Red House crowned overall champion at ABMP Vidyalaya sports meet

Manish and Tulsi declared best athlete

Jamshedpur: ABMP Adarsh Uchcha Vidyalaya in Rahargora, Telco organised 56th annual sports meet in the school premises on Thursday. The event began with a colourful march past. Chief Guest for the occasion Dr. DS Padan, vice chairman of the school managing committee and deputy general manager, Tata Motors Foundry, declared the meet open.

Total of 77 sporting events were during the day where 65 students of Red, Blue, Yellow and Green House participated in 16 groups. Chief Guest expressed happiness over students sporting talent and school’s continuous progress in sports activities.

He assured to support the sports talent of the school and also felicitated the students. Red House was declared the overall champion with 136 points. Runners-up position was bagged by Yellow House which scored 121 points followed by Blue House with 91 points and Green House with 86 points.

Manish Kujur was declared the best athlete in the boy’s category and Kumari Tulsi Besar in the girl’s category.

Sporting event for teachers was also held on the occasion. In the male teacher category-Shiv Ranjan Kumar Sinha was first, Arvind Kumar Pathak was second and joint third were Rana Ranjeet Singh and Sanjeev Tiwary.

In the female teacher category-Nutan Kumari was first, Rinki Kumari second and Varsha Singh bagged the third spot.

Schools sports teacher Rana Ranjit Singh, assistant Shiv Ranjan Kumar, technical officers Manju Singh, JKP Singh, Ajit Singh, Arun Singh, Shrawan Kumar, Shakuntala Kumari, SK Sharma and others provided full support in making the event successful.
