Jamshedpur: The Annual Sports Day of D. B. M. S. Lilliput School was held at the D. B. M. S. English School ground last month. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Gurbari Hembrom, Manager (Sports Dept.), Urban Services, Tata Steel. The March past was led by Kirshna Mukhi of Std. X, Commander in Chief followed by the School Captains and Vice-Captains who led their respective houses.
The Chief Guest unfurled the Sports Flag and declared the sports meet open. Drill display was put up jointly by the students of Std. III & IV of Sonari and Farm Area school. B. H. Area School Students of Std. IV & V also put up a drill display. A number of events were conducted in different categories on the Annual Sports Day.
Red House emerged as winner. In the sub-junior level Rohan Vishwakarma of Red House was the winner, in the Junior Level Pari Tuddu of Yellow House was first and in the senior level Abhishek Kumar of Red House was declared the champion.
Best March Past was awarded to Green House. Best Drill was bagged by B.H. Area School. In the block balancing contest for ex-students Suman Nag was first followed by Aarti Sharma and Abhishek Bag. Spoon and Marble event for parents were held.
Altogether 15 track events and 4 Drill Display items were conducted. All the Prize winners were given medals and certificates by the chief guest, Gurbari Hembram, B. Neelakantan, Chairperson, Mrs. Chandrashekhar (Jt. Chairpersons), Rajani Shekhar – President, Kamala Subramanian – Vice-President, Bhuvana Sridhar – Secretary, Vasanthi Raghuram – Treasurer, Radha Srinivasan- Principal – DBMS Lilliput School.
The dignitaries of various units of D.B.M.S, Parents & Students attended the programme. Welcome speech was given by Radha Srinivasan, Principal, DBMS Lilliput School. At the end Vote of thanks was presented by Manju Rani to the School Managing Committee, Faculty Members, Students, Parents, media for their whole hearted co-operation in making this annual sports day a grand success.
