Jamshedpur, July 19: The Red Cross society achieved another feat to its archives, when it performed 16 successful eye operations.
The operations were performed during a camp held at the Ram Manohar Lohiya hospital in Bagbera. The event was organized in collaboration with Tata Pigments, subsidiary of the Tata Group. The camp was targetted at providing treatment to the poor & needy.
The camp was inaugurated by Subhanjit Chowdhary, designated MD of Tata Pigments. The operation theatre was declared open by a ribbon cutting ceremony performed jointly by Dr. J.S.Bedi, Dr. Sushil Bajoria & Chowdhary himself.
The doctors along with their team performed 16 successful operations. Another 20 operations have been scheduled for July 25. Secretary Vijay Kumar Singh of the Red Cross society informed that the patients subjected to another eye checkup on Monday after which they will be provided with medicines & a pair of spectacles if necessary and relieved.
The event was attended by Tata Pigments HR official B.H.V.Satyanarayan Murthy, P.V.Ramarao, Ritesh Kr. Gupta, H.K.Rai, Gaurav Dey, G.S.Rao, social activist Chandra Mohan Singh, Shravan Kumar Debuka, Sunil Kr. Agarwal and Taporshi Sarkar. Many members of the Red Cross society also graced the occasion.
