Jamshedpur: Indian Red Cross Society under CSR programme of Tata Pigments held free eye care camp at Ram Manohar Lohia eye care centre at Bagbera today.
A team of doctors led by Dr JS Bedi conducted eye check-ups of 540 people afflicted with eye related problems. During eye check-ups 210 patients were detected having cataract.
Tomorrow cataract operations would be conducted on 60 persons while the rest would undergo operations in the next camp. Dr BP Singh, Dr JS Bedi, Dr Sushil Bajoria, Dr Punam Singh and their associates would conduct cataract operations and the patients would also get lens.
The patients would be released on Monday with medicines and lens. Officials of Tata Pigment Limited including MD Tata Pigments Prakash Sarode will inaugurate operation session tomorrow.
Present in today�s check-up camp were honorary secretary of Red Cross Society East Singhbhum Vijay Kumar Singh, social activist, Chandra Mohan Singh, senior manager, human resources, Tata Pigment, VSN Murty, Red Cross member Rakesh Mishra and others.
