Ravi Shankar Prasad’s 2-day visit to Jamshedpur starts today

Jamshedpur, June 16: �Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology,�Ravi�Shankar Prasad is scheduled to visit Jamshedpur on June 17 and 18. The two-day visit of the�minister to Jamshedpur begins on June 17.

A senior BJP leader informed that East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Dr. Amitabh Kaushal held a meeting to look into the preparations of the visit.

According to schedule, Union Minister will arrive at Sonari Airport at 2.10 p.m. on June 17 and will be present at the Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur at 3 p.m. where he will be launching various schemes of BSNL and the postal department. Prasad will also meet the beneficiaries.

At 5.15 pm on the same day, Ravi Shankar Prasad will meet the representatives of Chamber of Commerce, IT companies and doctors, lawyers and social workers at Alcor Hotel in Bistupur.

On the second day of his visit on June 18, Prasad will lay the foundation stone of STPI (Software Technology Park of India) at 11 a.m. in Adityapur.

At 1 p.m., the minister will address a press conference at Alcor Hotel followed by public rally at 3.30 p.m. He will also the BJP members at Rabindra Bhavan in Sakchi during the Vikash Parva to mark the completion of two years of Narendra Modi led government.

Union minister of state for rural development Sudarshan Bhagat will be present on the occasion.

He will formally launch the academic session of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT Ranchi) on June 18.

The Union Minister will unveil the website (www.iiitranchi.nic.in) of IIITR at a function at AIADA Bhawan in Adityapur to start the admission process, following which the 2016-17 academic session will commence from August 2016.

Expressing satisfaction over security arrangements, SSP Anoop T Mathew said that it has been decided to take stern legal action as per law against those who will try to obstruct city.

“Traffic is an important issue that has been addressed in view of the event. We have prepared the road map and also chalked out alternative routes for traffic diversion,” he said.

The police and administrative machineries are all set up with security arrangement after putting the police stations on alert. East Singhbhum district police maintains that it has beefed up the security arrangement at the areas that fall� in its jurisdiction.

Special checking drive is being organised at the border areas of the city. Close vigil is being keeping at the strategic locations like markets, bus stands and hotels.

The authorities at hotels have been asked to report to the nearest police station on any suspicious person. The police are continuously patrolling the road outside on foot and in vans.

The Union minister will leave for Ranchi via helicopter on June 18 at 6.15 p.m.
