Jamshedpur, September 14: Tug of War and Walkathon was organized for Support Staffs of TFA (Tata Football Academy) & Sports Department of Tata Steel at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Wednesday morning. This is a new initiative started by the department.
Total of around 100 staffs of TFA & Sports Department from Maintenance Staff, Ground Staff, Security, Caterers and JSA Staffs participated in the event. In the Walkathon (Men)- Ravi Kishan of SIS was first followed by Santosh Kumar Yadav of SIS and Debu Das of Caterer Organizer.
In the Walkathon (Women)- Kalyani Gope of Maintenance Staff was the winner, Kamla of Maintenance Staff was second while Pushpa of Maintenance Staff came third.
Five teams including- SIS Team, JSA Staff Team, TFA Staff Team, Ground & Maintenance Staff Team and Caterer Organizer team participated in TUG of War events.
In Tug of War A – SIS beat TFA Staff by 2 sets to 0. SIS beat Caterer Organizer Staff by 2 sets to 0.
In B- Ground & Maintenance Staff beat JSA Staff by 2 sets to 0.
In the Final- Ground and Maintenance Staff team beat SIS Team in final by 2 sets to 0 in Tug of War.
The events were conducted by Avinash Kumar, Manager Sports and was supported by Satish Singh, L Nageshwar Rao, Ajit Singh, Ms. Purnima, Ms. Renu, B K Jena, Mrinmoy, P K Paul, Kuntala Paul, Arun Sinha and Ravi Barua.
Purnima Mahato, Olympic Return & Dronacharya awardee and Satnam Singh, Sr. Manager Sports distributed the trophies.
