Rathindra Nath Das elected Jamshedpur District Bar Association President

Jamshedpur, August 25: Rathindra Nath Das has been elected the President of the Jamshedpur District Bar Association for the 2024-2026 term, defeating his closest rival Malkit Singh with 567 votes against Singh’s 347. Balai Panda has been re-elected as Vice President, securing 511 votes and overcoming Ravi Shankar Tripathi, who received 278 votes.

Kumar Rajesh Ranjan emerged as the new General Secretary, winning by a significant margin over Ajay Singh Rathore. In the Joint Secretary category, Vinita Singh led with 385 votes, followed by Sanjeev Kumar Baria with 346 votes. Former Joint Secretary Rajhans Tiwari has raised an objection regarding the vote count, requesting a recount.

For the post of Treasurer, Jai Prakash Bhakat, also known as JP, secured a victory with 400 votes, defeating former Treasurer Divendu Mandal, who garnered 319 votes. Pushpa Kumari won the Assistant Treasurer’s position securing 457 votes, surpassing Jagdeep Singh Saini who received 310 votes.

The nine elected executive members include Abhay Kumar Singh, who led with 530 votes, followed by Vinita Mishra, Gaurav Kumar Pathak, Luchi Kachhap, Ravi Kumar Thakur, Ved Prakash Singh, Alok Kumar Singh, Ranjana Mishra, and Anant Gope.

The elections were closely monitored by Jharkhand State Bar Council’s Vice President Advocate Rajesh Kumar Shukla, with Advocate Amar Singh and Advocate Ramsuhag Singh serving as observers. Biswajit Mandal represented the district administration, and a strong police presence ensured security throughout the process.
