Rashtriya Swadeshi Mela at Gopal Maidan from today

Jamshedpur: Rashtriya Swadeshi Mela will start from October 10 at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur. Inspired from the slogan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘Make in India’ the organiser Swadeshi Jagran Trust is hosting the fair.

The Rashtriya Swadeshi Mela organised by the Swadeshi Jagaran Trust is new in the city that will be inaugurated by BJP national vice president Raghubar Das on October 10 evening. The fair will conclude on Oct 18.

An array of products from, computers produced by national companies to furniture would be made available in 300 stalls. Artists from Gujarat, Delhi, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha and host Jharkhand would participate in the fair.

According to the organisers, the fair would showcase �all that is Swadeshi (Indian)�and will facilitate visitors to experience all that is Indian to market Indian goods.

�It will be the most comprehensive showcase offering specialized exposure to all major sectors. The event will offer opportunities for participants to generate demand and expand the export market,� said a senior functionary.

The mela will showcase textiles, consumer durables, furniture and home decor, ayurvedic products and handicrafts.

He said that the western world is ruling the markets despite the fact that the products produced in our country are equally competitive. With increasing flow of western products multinationals are minting money at our own cost. It is our duty to consume �swadeshi� products for the sake of our own people.
