Stay Focused and Avoid Digital Distractions, advises Shourya
Limit Social Media Use to Achieve Goals: JEE Advanced topper
Ranchi: Students from Jharkhand have delivered an impressive performance in JEE Advanced 2026, one of India’s toughest and most prestigious engineering entrance examinations. Bringing pride to the state, Ranchi student Shourya Shekhar emerged as the Jharkhand topper by securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 414. Snehal Raj Singh secured the second position in the state with an AIR of 635.
The remarkable achievement of both students has brought joy to their families, teachers, and well-wishers. Their success has also become a source of motivation for thousands of engineering aspirants across Jharkhand.
After the declaration of the results, both students shared their preparation journey and study strategies during an interaction with the media. State topper Shourya Shekhar said that consistency and concentration played the most important role in his preparation. According to him, mobile phones and social media have become major distractions for students today. He advised aspirants to reduce unnecessary use of social media platforms, including short-video content and online entertainment, as excessive screen time negatively affects studies.
Shourya emphasized that effective time management is essential for success in competitive examinations. He said students should use mobile phones only when necessary and remain focused on their goals. He added that disciplined preparation over a long period is more beneficial than studying irregularly for extended hours.
Snehal Raj Singh, who secured the second position in Jharkhand, said there is no shortcut to success in examinations like JEE Advanced. He explained that many students believe studying for 12 to 14 hours daily guarantees success, but the quality of study matters more than the number of hours spent with books. According to him, focused and smart preparation in the right direction can produce excellent results even in fewer hours.
Both students highlighted that JEE Advanced is not only a test of academic knowledge but also a challenge of patience, discipline, and mental strength. They said regular practice, solving mock tests, and carefully analyzing mistakes were key aspects of their preparation strategy. Maintaining a positive mindset during stressful situations also helped them stay motivated throughout the journey.
The successful candidates further stressed the importance of digital discipline among students. They said technology can be highly useful for learning and gaining knowledge, but uncontrolled usage can distract students from their goals and reduce productivity.
