Ranchi, Feb 13: Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport has introduced a revised parking system, with changes in free parking time, entry-exit points and penalty regulations. The free parking limit has been reduced from 10 minutes to 9 minutes and under the new system, vehicles will exit from the entry point and enter from the exit point to streamline movement within the premises.

The airport management has warned that vehicles parked beyond the allowed time in the no-parking zone will face a fine of Rs 500, along with additional charges. Parking in front of the terminal building will be strictly prohibited and only pickup and drop-offs will be allowed. If a vehicle is left unattended in the restricted area, it will be towed away, with the owner required to bear the towing charges.

Under the revised parking charges, private vehicles will be charged Rs 30 for more than 9 minutes up to 30 minutes and Rs 40 for 30 to 120 minutes. For premium parking, the fee will be Rs 75 for 30 minutes and Rs 80 for 30 to 120 minutes. Vehicles parked for 2 to 7 hours will be charged Rs 80, with an extra Rs 10 per hour thereafter, while 24-hour parking will cost Rs 240. For two-wheelers, the parking fee has been set at Rs 10 for up to 30 minutes and Rs 15 for 30 to 120 minutes.

Airport authorities have urged passengers and visitors to follow the new parking regulations to avoid fines and inconvenience.
