Jamshedpur, April 3: A woman from Ramgarh district accused her colleague, a Ranchi man, of raping her at a hotel situated on the National Highway 33. She registered a complaint against the accused with the MGM police station. She said the accused, identified as Pradip Kumar Ram alias Rana, had given her spiked cold drink during their stay at the hotel and thereafter raped her. She said she told her husband about the incident the next day and decided to take legal action against the accused.
Police sent the complainant to MGM Medical College for medical examination. They said the woman would be sent to the Civil Court on Monday for getting her statement recorded before the magistrate.
Police officials said they were investigating the matter and trying to verify the allegations.
