Ramlal elephant ravages houses in Guhiyapal village

Jamshedpur, Feb 8: In a distressing incident in Guhiyapal village of Baharagora block in the East Singhbhum district, Ramlal, the elephant, targeted five houses, causing extensive damage to food stocks. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, instilling fear among the villagers who sought refuge in their homes.

According to reports, Ramlal entered Guhiyapal village from Sial Bindha via the banks of the Swarnarekha river. The elephant, in its quest for food, broke the iron latches of houses belonging to Ravi Bera, Manas Dandpath, Khuku Sahu, Alok Bera, and Bhutu Upadhyay. Subsequently, the elephant destroyed sacks of paddy, rice, and urad dal stored in these houses.

The Forest Department team has responded to the situation, reaching the affected area to assess the extent of damage caused to the villagers.
