Massive Support for Ramesh Khirwal in Chaibasa Civic Poll Rally

Chaibasa: A city procession-cum-support rally was organised in Chaibasa on Friday under the leadership of the BJP-supported Municipal Council chairman candidate, Ramesh Khirwal, drawing an overwhelming response from party leaders, workers, women supporters, and local residents.

The rally began from Khirwal Dharamshala and passed through Mangla Haat, Ratanlal Petrol Pump Chowk, Shaheed Park Chowk, and Post Office Chowk. It then moved through Kapda Patti before returning to Khirwal Dharamshala, where it culminated in a public meeting. The large turnout was seen as a significant show of strength ahead of the civic polls, with supporters appealing to voters to cast their vote on serial number 6, the “biscuit” symbol, in favour of Khirwal.

During the procession, floral tributes were paid to iconic tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, late Radhe Sumburui, martyr Ram Bhagwan Kerketa, and to the statue of Swami Vivekananda at Ravindra Bhavan. The candidate and supporters also offered prayers at temples along the route, seeking peace and prosperity for the town. The procession witnessed flower showers and enthusiastic sloganeering in support of the BJP-backed nominee.

Among those present were former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, former MP Geeta Koda, Badkuwar Gagrai, district BJP president Geeta Balmuchu, former district president Sanjay Pandey, and several senior party leaders and office-bearers.

A large number of ward presidents, booth-level workers and women supporters participated, with the significant presence of women emerging as a key highlight of the rally.

Addressing the gathering, Madhu Koda said Chaibasa now needs honest, decisive and strong leadership, expressing confidence that Khirwal would usher in a new phase of development. Geeta Koda termed the rally a symbol of public trust and said the participation of women and youth reflected growing support for the BJP-backed candidate.

Other speakers emphasised the need for transparent governance and collective efforts for comprehensive urban development.

Ramesh Khirwal, addressing the gathering, said the massive support had increased his responsibility and assured residents that he would work with dedication, transparency and a development-oriented approach to give Chaibasa a new identity.

The rally concluded peacefully in a disciplined and enthusiastic atmosphere, with supporters reiterating their resolve to ensure Khirwal’s victory in the upcoming municipal elections.
