Jamshedpur, June 17: Kolhan’s big company Ramakrishna Forging Limited (RKFL) and Titagarh Rail System have been given a contract worth Rs 12,227 crore.
Both these companies have to make 15.40 lakh forge wheels for railways. This order has been given by the Central Government under the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign. This is the biggest tender ever awarded to Kolhan’s company for 20 years.
In the first year, the company will supply 40,000 forge wheels to the railways, while in the second year it will supply 60,000 and in the third year 80,000 wheels.
This wheel can be used in other trains including LHB coach, WAG 9 locomotive, Vande Bharat Express train. Together these two companies will also set up a plant to make these forge wheels, where 2 lakh wheels can be manufactured annually. This facility will be able to meet the demand of the domestic and private railway sector as well as export markets.
Both the companies will contribute equity on equal basis to meet the capital expenditure requirement of the project. Ramakrishna Forging Limited and Titagarh Rail System Limited will together supply 1540000 forged wheels to the Ministry of Railways.
Titagarh Rail System Limited is under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India while Ramakrishna Forging Limited is a private company.
