Jamshedpur: A rally was jointly taken out from Sakchi roundabout to Jamshedpur Collectorate on Tuesday by various social organizations of the city. The initiative was taken by Barnali Chakraborty of YUVA, a city-based social organization.
In a memorandum addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, the participants demanded measures to enhance security arrangements across the city. They demanded installation of CCTV cameras at various important places and deputation of women cops in all police stations. They said the number of patrol cars and pink patrol vehicles should be increased all over the city.
�The administration should regularly inspect the shelter homes for children and women. Responsibilities of inspection officials should be fixed. Further, the administration should make uniform and identity cards compulsory for all auto rickshaw and other commercial drivers. Rate chart and route of vehicles should be fixed,� said Chakraborty.
Others present on the occasion included Anjali Bose, Aparna Guha, Alpana Bhattacharya, Shanti Ghosh, Tapan Chakravarty, Chandana Sarkar, Sarvani Nandi, Puja Dubey, Kiran Kaur and Seema Mukherjee.
