Jamshedpur: Rajkumar Mishra secured an unopposed victory as the Vice-Chairman of Chakulia Nagar Panchayat in a key political development.
Officials conducted the election after administering the oath to Chairperson Somwari Soren and all 12 ward councillors at the Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Office on Wednesday.
With no other candidate in the fray, councillors unanimously elected Mishra as Vice-Chairman.
After the ceremony, the newly elected representatives returned to Chakulia, where Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) workers and supporters gave them a grand welcome.
The celebrations began at Birsa Chowk, where the representatives paid floral tributes to the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Party workers then organised a welcome ceremony and felicitated the newly elected leaders.
Several local leaders and party workers, including Shivcharan Hansda, Sahebram Mandi, Gopan Parihari, Debashish Das, Jagannath Mahato, Ganesh Dutt, and Rajesh Singh, attended the event, showcasing strong unity and support within party ranks.
