Jamshedpur, Nov 7: The English Department of Rajendra Vidyalaya organized Annual Intra-School Debate Competition on November 7, at the Science Gallery. The event aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking, reasoning, and public speaking skills while encouraging healthy competition and respect for diverse opinions.
The competition began with a welcome speech followed by the introduction of the esteemed judges, Mitali Roy Chowdhury and Ratna Chakraborty. Students from Classes 8 to 10 participated in the Junior Category, while those from Classes 11 and 12 competed in the Senior Category. Participants presented strong arguments both for and against the motion, showcasing eloquence, confidence, and logical reasoning.
After rounds of intense arguments and rebuttals, Sudip Bhattacharjee (Class X) was declared Best Speaker in the Junior Category, and Nikhil Pandey (Class XII) earned the title of Best Speaker in the Senior Category.
Other winners in the Junior Category included Shaurya Veer Srivastava (2nd) and Aarna Tulsyan (3rd) for the motion, and Yuvraj (1st), Adya (2nd), and Anmol Kumar Singh (3rd) against the motion. In the Senior Category, Malwika Singh (1st), Parineeta Kumari (2nd), and Shaurya Gupta (3rd) won for the motion, while Krish Vinayak (2nd) and Hrishita Singh (3rd) followed Nikhil Pandey against the motion.
Principal congratulated the winners and encouraged students to take part in such intellectual forums that promote thoughtful discussions and articulate expression. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
