Jamshedpur, April 8: Jamshedpur witnessed a spell of rain accompanied by gusty winds and lightning, leading to disruption in traffic movement, particularly near the old Mango bridge where waterlogging created significant inconvenience for commuters on Wednesday evening.
According to the daily weather bulletin issued from Ranchi on April 8, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2°C, marking a noticeable drop of 4.1°C below normal.
The rainfall recorded in Jamshedpur stood at 2 mm between morning and evening observations.

Across the region, temperatures remained subdued due to changing weather conditions. The highest maximum temperature in the state was recorded at Seraikela AWS at 36.3°C, while Bokaro PTO reported the highest rainfall at 19.4 mm.
The combination of rain, wind, and lightning not only brought temporary relief from heat but also caused localized disruptions, with low-lying areas in Jamshedpur bearing the brunt of water accumulation. Authorities may need to remain alert as such weather conditions could persist intermittently.
Residents described the sudden change in weather as both relieving and disruptive.
“I was stuck near Mango bridge for almost 30 minutes. The waterlogging was unexpected and traffic was barely moving,” said a daily commuter.
Another resident pointed to the intensity of the weather. “The rain came with gusty winds and lightning. It felt like a storm for a while, though it did bring some relief from the heat,” he said.
