Jamshedpur: The weather in the State is set to take a stormy turn starting April 7, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in several parts of the state over the next three days. Both yellow and orange alerts have been issued for different regions, with authorities urging residents to remain cautious.
April 7 (Sunday): A yellow alert has been issued for Giridih, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Jamtara, Godda, Dumka, Pakur, and Sahibganj, where thunderstorms with strong winds are expected. Gusty winds may disrupt normal activities, especially in rural areas.
April 8 (Monday): An orange alert has been issued for Godda, Sahibganj, Dumka, Pakur, Simdega, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Seraikela, predicting light to moderate rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning.
Additionally, Ranchi, Gumla, Lohardaga, Khunti, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, and Jamtara are likely to witness cloudy skies, thunder, and strong winds, for which a yellow alert has been issued.
April 9 (Tuesday): Thunderstorms and lightning are expected to continue in parts of the state. An orange alert has been sounded for West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Seraikela, Bokaro, Dhanbad, and Jamtara, where lightning and strong winds may pose a risk to life and property.
” With the onset of this weather system, both maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to drop across Jharkhand. Residents may experience a slight relief from the heat, but are advised to take precautions against lightning and wind-related incidents,” said an official.
Weather is expected to improve from April 10, according to the Meteorological Center in Ranchi. However, until then, Jharkhand remains under an active weather watch.
