Railway police yet to trace severed head of three-year-old rape victim

Jamshedpur, August 8 : The  railway police  has failed to  trace the severed head of the three-year-old girl child, who had been murdered after being raped by two men.

The railway police hastaken two accused Kailash Kumar (39) and Rinku Shao (38), into three days police remand.They also had pressed a sniffer dog from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) for tracing the severed head.

The railway police has now approached the Tata Motors Ltd for providing a sniffer dog for  tracing the head. Deputy superintendent of police, Tatanagar railway police, Noor Mustafa said that they had taken the two accused on a three day police remand on August 5.

” We are grilling two of the accused, Kailas and Rinku, who had killed the three-year-old after her rape. We took them to the bushes behind the ISWP company in Telco and got them to search the area.  We did even clearedthe bushes and pressed a sniffer dog that we had taken from the RPF, but the severed head could not be traced,” said Mustafa.

According to sources in the railway police, one of the accused, Kailash  said that he along with his friend Rinku abducted the child from her mother’s lap at the Tatanagar station platform on July 25 night. 

The three-year-old girl was stolen from her mother’s lap at Tatanagar station platform No 2 on the night of July 25, leading the young woman to lodge a complaint with the GRP, Tatanagar  the next day.

The child was lifted while her mother was sleeping with her paramour in the night. Five days later, the police recovered the kid’s headless body from a bush near the ISWP fabrication unit boundary wall. Rinku Kumar, the 38-year-old culprit was arrested from his house at Ramadhin Bagan in Telco. Another person, 37-year-old Kailash Kumar, who is an accomplice of Sahu, was also arrested for being involved in the ghastly incident.

But the DSP pointed out both the accused are changing their statement each time they are being questioned. “Sometime they claim they dropped the severed head in the Dalma hill and sometime say they had dropped into an empty wagon bound toward Purulia in Bengal.  We have returned the duo to the Ghaghidih Central Jail from where we had borughtthem on three day police remand, but our efforts did not evoke any positive result,” said the senior railway police officer.

Mustafa said they have today returned the two accused to the Ghaghidih Central Jail, adding that they would submit a charge-sheet against them after making a final efforts with the sniffer dogs from Tata Motors for tracing the severe head.
