Railway job fraud unearthed, two arrested for cheating of lakhs

Ranchi: In a concerning development, a significant case of fraud has been uncovered in Jharkhand, shedding light on a scam involving the promise of securing a job in the Railways. The local police have apprehended two individuals in connection with this incident. According to the allegations, the accused duped a young man by extracting approximately Rs 6.5 lakhs from him under the guise of providing employment.
The fraudulent activity took place in Dhanbad, where the perpetrators assured Ashish Kumar Yadav, a resident of Sahibganj Rajmahal, of securing a job in the Railways. The deal for this employment opportunity was struck at Rs 10 lakhs, of which Ashish had already paid six and a half lakhs by September 2023.
As the situation unfolded, Ashish was summoned to Dhanbad and Jamshedpur, where he was accommodated in a hotel. However, suspicion arose in him during this period, prompting him to reach out to the Dhanbad police. Sensing foul play, the police quickly set up a trap, leading to the arrest of both individuals involved in the fraudulent job scheme.
