Railway gate damaged in hit-and-run incident in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April  1: In a concerning incident on Monday, a railway gate situated at Maubhandar in the Ghatshila block of Ghatsila, Jamshedpur, suffered damage due to a collision with an unknown four-wheeler. The impact of the collision was significant, causing substantial harm to the gate.

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred when the gate was already closed. Suddenly, an unidentified vehicle approached at high speed, crashing into the gates and causing them to break. The driver of the vehicle swiftly fled the scene, leaving behind the damaged gates.

Upon receiving information from the gateman, officers from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) promptly arrived at the location to investigate the matter. It is suspected that the driver’s reckless actions were intentional, possibly aimed at facilitating another unlawful activity.

Following the gate’s destruction, the gateman initiated emergency protocols, allowing trains to pass through. The RPF officers emphasized the severity of the situation, stressing the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.

The motive behind the deliberate destruction of the railway gate remains unclear, prompting authorities to delve deeper into the matter to ensure the safety and security of railway infrastructure in the area.
