Jamshedpur, April 1: A 40-year-old railway employee posted at Tatanagar was found lying murdered at slum area under Burmaminespolice station area on Sunday morning.
The victim identified as Prashant Kumar Dey was shot in the head in front of the house of MintuMukhi at Burmamines-based Harijan Bustee.
The police have taken two persons into custody on suspicion of being involved in the murder of the victim who worked as a gangman in the railway.
The police have recovered the body and sent it to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.
Revealing about the incident, officer-in-charge, Burmainespolice station Jagdev Singh said that though the murder victim was a railway employee he would lead a life of vagabond.
” We are investigating the incident. Dey was a resident of Railway Traffic Colony in Parsudih and was married. But despite being married and father of a two-year-old son, he would roam about in Carriage Colony and HarijanBusteeafter drinking alcohol,� he said.
The OC said though they no idea about the assailant, they have picked up two of the friends of the murder victim for interrogation. The victim’s wife AnamicaDey had come to the spot on hearing the murder of her husband.
